well you could phone HSBC or look on there website as they give proffesional study loans. I cant remember exactly but i vageuly recall them offering loans towards training pilots.
"HSBC Professional Studies Loan packages available
Cabair confirm that HSBC Professional Studies Loan packages are now available to CCAT selected and Approved candidates. (All loan applications are individually assessed and agreed at branch discretion. All HSBC credit is subject to status.)"
I havent a clue if this will help much, but i thought i might as well share what i know.
I bank with HSBC and they don't do anything for pilot training anymore. I think they've got a deal with Cab Air for that arrangement but i know they wont lend me anything.
Thanks aswell Stuart,
I need to do it in one go mate cause I won't have the time to work and study I need to quit my job and pay the loan off 6 months later if you know what i mean.
why dont you try something like the college in austrailia its only £47 000 with accomidation, jsut get hte max you can and work for the rest, 1 or 2 years work would be enoughif you get around £25 000 loan.

It depends how you do it, for example I did my PPL in November 05 using annual leave (3 week intensive course) then bought the ATPL course distance learning with Bristol, I worked full time while doing this (10-12 hours a day HGV driving), having completed these stages while working I now need a much smaller loan than I would have needed to quit my job and start from scratch, the total time frame will only be a few months longer than an integrated course with less than half of the debt, it's something for you to think about anyway, good luck in whatever you decide.
I've been to about 4 banks and they have all turned me down for a loan to do the ATPL.
I've always wanted to be a airline from being tiny. But now I can't get the money togther without a house.
Does anyone know what I can do to get £30k? Or does anyone work in a bank and have access to the vault? ;)
Happy Landing everyone.
Ryan
PPL ((A), plus all the kit required) - £5,000
Hour
Building for CPL training
- £3,500
ATPL and PPL exams - £ 3,900
CPL Practical - £6,000
Instructor - £7,000
IR - £14,000
If you can afford to pay as you go using the modular route
up to CPL practical then you can easily take out a professional studies load to
pay off the instructor rating or CPL practical ratings. However, you may need separate
bank accounts and you need to save money wisely.
FOUR banks? (Actually, "about" - so how many have you tried? 2? 3? ) You've really worked hard haven't you!
If you let them steal your dream they will. And if you let them then that's what you deserve. Being a professional pilot is hard - it's hard to get there and it's hard to stay there. If you fall at the first hurdle you don't want it badly enough, not in the West anyway. Get off your self pitying bum and try harder young man.
Clearly you haven't got a clue what your talking about!
Everytime you apply for a loan you credit scoring goes down. So, guess what you have less chance of getting a loan anywhere. If 4 banks have turned you down I guess the 5th and the 6th will, right till the way till they black list you.
Please don't talk about something you know jack about we have too many of them in England.
Get off your high horse and find out what the real world is about Mister!
Thank you to the people who have given sensible comments.
Hi Ryan, have you tried any of the bigger schools to go integrated, CTC, Cabair or Oxford. I know it costs more, but if you are successful with their selection processes they have arrangements with local banks in order for you to secure the required funds.

Re: The dream is over!!
I did my flying training in Canada at Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre www.wwflightcentre.com in Kitchener Ontario. In Canada we have TD Bank that also does Professional Loans. I had a loan through them for my private license. The Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre is also affiliated with a local Community College and the University of Waterloo with Aviation specific programs.
hi guys my name is jamie i am at oxford aviation training school just about to do my first school finals for the jaas hopefully i will do good but hsbc offer a £50,000 loan to the pilots at oxford if they need to and there are sponserships at oxford to for airlines like netjets thomas cook and excel so you can go for those. i would recommend oat for training
