I'm in the market for buying an aeroplane. A number of friends quote the Robin as a very good 4 seat tourer which is exactly what I need.
I flew a Robin once about 20 years ago and can remember little about it. Can anyone put me in touch with a flying club or person in the Hampshire area who has one that I could go and fly in to see how it feels. I would pay all costs of course.
Our company, Exavia, specialises in DR400s - sales, service and hire. We think that, short of something like a Cirrus, the DR400 is unsurpassed as a touring aircraft - with outstanding performance/practicality/flexibility/durability/reliability/economy without having to worry about three greens! But then we would say that wouldn't we?
Irrespective of business, as dedicated DR400 enthusiasts we would be happy to help and could hire you a DR400 or get you a ride in one.
Only problem - we are based at Exeter (EGTE) - not exactly Hants area! If coming here is not practical for you, our aircraft do get around and visit Popham etc..
We produce a freebie "DR400 Buyers' Guide" for people not too sure about Robins, which might be of interest.
Robins are wonderful aircraft to fly ... stable, fast, vis fantastic, great handling .. I bought a DR400 2+2 dauphin in December from Exavia and Dermot was extremely helpful ... I felt I could ask him anything ... afterall plane ownership is a scary business.!1 Exavia take pride in everything they do . I considered a Cessna 172, 182, PA28 ... but the Robin just had that something more. Go for it !
Best wishes
Lester
Ps No ... I have not been paid by Dermot to say this .
