How do you pick a good flight school, how do you know if it's good?

Dear all

I am writing to ask anyone what aspects make a good air school, and how do you go about to research good air schools - names of air schools would be greatly appreciated!
I am HOPING (providing my funds do not run out!) that I will embark on the magical journey that is the PPL! That is why I need some information of air schools in Berkshire that are good - as to not throw my money away!
Thanks,
Aaron

Hi,

First of all go and visit some air schools in your area. Talk to the people in there and see what sort of people they are and see if they give you any valuble advice.

Your next step probably would be to take a couple of trial lessons with your selected air schools.
From these trial lessons you find out alot about the air school and the quality of the training.

Sorry, I don't know any flying schools in your area, but you could find out what ones are on offer by visiting an online serch engine.

Hope that helps

Regards

James

Make sure you visit the airfields in your area a few times before choosing. When your at the airfiled suss out who's learning and ask them. Most people will tell you what it's like and also more importantly what their FI is like.
It's important to get an FI who is a excellent teacher. Some FI's have thousands of hours of experience but if they can't teach very well it's pointless!

It's easy to feel intimidated when you first walk into a club but once you get chatting to members you realise that most don't bite and if your keen you'll find most to be very encouraging.

Good luck.
