Best off luck. I have logged 14 hrs but stil to sit Air Law and hence fly solo. Very daunting. When I think I am ready I get cold feet ! I think that I too should just book the exam and go for it.
I am at 24 Hours currently, I solo'd at 21 hours after clubs going bust and disturbances in training / different aircraft etc.
You will not even think about the solo until you're down and parked back on the Apron!
You'll go round for some practice circuits same as you've always been doing, and then go do it withtout him there for a single circuit.
Just do like you've done for all the circuits and dont do anything you haven't been taught. Your instructor wont let you go unless he is very happy that you can fly.
Also remember to have everything with you i.e. chart, kneeboard, chart pens.
In the very unlikely event that the aerodrome goes out of service during your circuit you will need those and the frequency of a local control unit to guide you into a controlled aerodrome.
At the end of the day, enjoy it and concentrate. I still cant believe I went solo even now, but the rush of confidence that comes from knowing you can fly is unequalled.

Then when you start your Nav, your instructor will fly a few routes with you using dead reckoning and be saying "you will be flying this one solo soon" etc. Thats when you realise you are moving on with the pace!
By the way, it sounds like I am just slightly ahead of you at the moment in the syallabus, so if I can be of any help at all - please feel free to e-mail me.
