Well i finally found out what i wanted to do with my life! Sound familiar? To be a pilot. Looking at training cost! Wow so to save money you really need to ace all your training. This is where sims comes in. However if you don’t have a good sim it probably won’t help much. So as a minimum is would advise
Microsoft FSX
VFR terrain add-on
UK airfields add-on
Plane type add-on (mine is PA-38 -121)
Yoke, peddles & quadrant
And finally and most importantly a IR tracker!
My instructor commented on the face that I’m not like most people who have simed! Usually they just look dead ahead and flight instruments only, very bad for VRF!!.
I can take what I have learnt up in the air and practice it on the sim from pre flight check to Freda check etc.
Minus the computer I already had the total cost was about £400 and apart from all the additional practice I get for my lesson, it also flipping good fun!
