I have been thinking about a career as a pilot for some time now. I am currently half way through my first year as an A-Level student studying ICT, Geography and Psychology. I am finding it very hard and really doubt my ability to gain C's in these subjects at A-Levels. So I am thinking of gaining 3 AS-Levels at hopefully C+ level and then possibly taking a BTEC in sport at college next September as I feel I will be able to achieve a good grade.
I am aware that becoming a pilot is very hard even with A-Levels and of course you are not guaranteed a job. As far as I am aware A-Levels are not required to become a pilot, could somebody please clear this up?
At the moment I plan to finish the first year and gain 3 AS levels. During the summer I will hopefully increase my hours at work to 30 hours a week which would enable me to complete my PPL in the summer. With this in mind I do not know if aiming to become a Pilot may be a bit too ambitious. So I was wondering where that leaves me? What other options are available to me?
Basically I need advice and suggestions as to what I should do. would be very much appreciated as I'm a bit lost at the moment!
Hi I have done my ATPL and COMMS there is this thing that you need to be super brainy and have A levels to be a pilot so let me tell you I left school at 15 was in bottom set for everything BUT i had a passion for flying I loved it and I worked very hard to get what I wanted and I am still rubbish at maths haha..
