Any tips or tricks for remembering stuff

Hi all,

I finally decided to take the plunge and sign up with GTS (Bournemouth) to take my CPL ground exams. The course notes are good with lots of information. For the most part it's easy to remember facts when you read them over and over, but I really seem to be having trouble with retaining tables or lists of information, for example, separation minima, airspace classification, ICAO annexes.

Does anyone out there have any advice or methods with which to remember this kind of information? Failing that, I'll just have to keep reading the stuff and hope it stays in.

I've done lots of (not so) funny stuff to remember just numbers that you'll only need to pass your ATPL exams (later you can always look it up somewhere). I drew my own separation minima table with different colours on a pink paper - since you're a boy, you can do it on blue ;) Only the drawing itself can help to remember and also the visual memory with tables is, for me, more helpful than reading sentences in a row.

I know I've memorized some stuff bu only remembering first letters. And made up some funny sentences with them. I remember doing my Air Law ATPL exam and memorizing some sentence about my mother's dog eating vegetables (English is not my native language so this particular sentence wouldn't help you).

Also I've had a page of my navigation notes as my laptop's desktop picture - also very helpful!

But what works for me won't maybe work for you. Be creative and good luck!
