Child Passengers

Hi everyone

My first post!!!

I want to take my toddler flying but Im not sure on the best way to secure him in the aircraft!!! Im hoping to take him out in the club C172, hes 27months old and im not sure whether I just use the lap strap or whether I could use our child car seat (not sure if these can be secured correctly in a Cessna?) or any other form of booster seat? Ive trawled the internet to no avail, so I would welcome any previous experience or advice that any of you have!

 Many thanks

Hi,

I take my 21 month old flying all the time.

We managed to get hold of a CARES aeroplane harness. This allows you to use the normal lapstrap but provides a 5 point harness.

My little one sits in the back of my Archer on a booster cusion, with lap strap and CARES five point harness. She has a pair of kidz ear defenders (or my old pooleys training headset) and is very comfortable. Make sure you take a pillow with you as invariably they fall asleep in no time and you can prop it under their head.

I got the kidz ear defenders from transair and I think the harness came from Mothercare.
