I have just got back from my first trip to Bembridge and would like to say what a great place it is to visit. Everyone was really friendly from the A/G radio to the guys in the restaurant. A lovely clean airfield, reasonable landing fee, and a decent sized concrete runway. Will definitely be paying them a visit in the future.
They have increased the landing fee from £10 to £12.50...nice atmosphere...you get better food at Compton Abbas,and the atmosphere equally lively...miss Sandown when they had the nicest restaurant and live music..etc..it was the nicest place in the whole of the UK...sadly missed !
Sandown is still open and will remain so after 1st October following a recent Court ruling although it's not certain how long for (but no restaurant). Fly in to show your support, PPR required.
