Hello, I am currently at 6th form and was just wondering how well did you Pilots do at GCSE/ A level? Flight has been an interest of mine from a very early age and i am determined to become a pilot one day. I just need an idea of how well i need to do in order to make it. Thanks, Ashley
Qualifications are only half important if you wish to get yourself onto a sponsored or semi sponsored scheme with an airline in which case you will need usually 2 A levels or more, but apart from this generally if you have the finance little is stopping you from giving it a go. Saying this I still wouldnt like to hand in an application to an airline with blanks or very bad qualifications on it. Also a decent understanding of Physics is good and likewise with maths but again not entirely neccessary.
I have 11 GCSEs all A+s and 3 A levels A, B, D and Im training with CTC Wings at the mo. I think without having taken Physics and having had a basic understanding of maths this course would be even harder than it is but thats just my opinion
Last year I was sitting at the front of a jet over the Bay of Biscay chatting to the FO about how we both got into the business when we discovered that between us we could not muster the educational qualifications to get an interview for a job serving tea and coffee down the back!
What we did have was the money time and drive to achive a goal.
However I would reccomend getting as much in the way of education as you can, it will give you the best chance of getting someone to help pay for your training.
I am Monika currently doing B.Tech . Can you please tell me how to apply for training as i want to be a pilot and can i go for the training after completing my degree.plz also tell me about that 3 month training course. how much will it cost near about (3 month training).
