I'm really finding this air law hard. If i read it and understand it i soon forget what i learnt. When i attempt some tests online im getting a pass most of the time which is great but i am aware its not just about passing the test its about being a safe pilot. Im really worried about being able to absorb all of this info. Any advice is welcome.
Also:
I've been working through the Air Law book a fair bit now. I managed to crack on and finish "Rules of the Air" last night which i understand to some degree.
I
was wondering should i try and get Air Law and a couple more out of the
way before my first solo which will be around june time. Main reason
being is that I will be in the middle of my GCSEs in june and PPL exams
on top of that will no doubt be too much.
Greg, I am having the same trouble with Air Law as you are.
I can't seem to hold onto the info mentally. I put it down to not using it actively unlike R/T, Navigation and Aircraft operations etc.
I have a job which consumes a lot of my mental strength at the moment so I hope by lightening some of that during the summer, I will gather more energy for the exams. The exams are my primary concern right now.
Airlaw is quite a dry subject but the only thing you can do is keep reading over and over again. It might help if you highlight key notes and compose a word file or list of revision points based on these key notes. Im a visual learner so highlighting was and still is the key for me- going colour crazy with a highlighter eg. Blue for minimas/limits, yellow for documents, pink for for procedures... something like that anyway
Also if your finding it really difficult just keep doing practice exams- get the PPL confuser and work through that. The more questions you do the more you remember.
My advice for the next exam would be something along the lines or Comms or Navigation- you start navigation lessons after your basic GH is complete.
Sound advice Morbz thanks alot. I am watching a PPL confuser on ebay at the moment whats a reasonable price to pay? Also when was the latest version published?
Human Performance (it's the easiest and gives you confidence in passing an exam!)
Air Law
Comms
Do those 3 before you go solo. Next, before your first solo cross-country, do the following 3:
Nav
Flight Perf & Planning
Met
Then, before your Q X-C, pass the RT Practical exam. Finally, during your GH revision before the PPL Skill Test, pass the Aircraft(Technical) exam so that the knowledge will still be fresh for the Examiner's Oral Questions.
