Calling all uk ppl students

ppl question bank 14/02/2010, 11:08 AM
Hi guys and gals..

We are looking for student pilots to give feedback regarding the UK Jar PPL ground exams to hopefully build and publish a (accurate) question bank online for free!!

As far as we can find no accurate question bank is published for the UK Jar PPL at this time.. It will help student pilots who have only just started there flying career to the pilot that has a FAA licence and wishes to convert to a JAR PPL with minimal fuss

How can you help???
If you have taken (or are about to take) a ground exam in the last few years and can give us feedback regarding a few questions you had on the paper thats all we ask. Send us the question with possible answers and it will be placed in the database

What exams will the question bank cover???

Airlaw
Met
Aircraft Gen
Human performance

Why not for the other exams???
Because the other subjects RT' NAV' FLIGHT PLANNING AND PERFORMANCE' can easily be understood with a few groundschool lessons..

Best way to study for the exams??

Simply read all relevent books for each subject. We would also suggest a groundschool. You will learn and take in far more than just sitting looking at a dull book for hours on end. Do the revision in the back of said books then go over our question bank. If theres a questions you do not understand then re-read the study material covering that section

Our aim is to have a question bank similar to what the FAA offer in the USA for student pilots. It will cover every possible question you could have on any of the exams.. It will not only help with study and confidents but will show you the actually questions that are in the exams and even the ones that have no reference in the study books and beleave us there are a few!!!!

A website will be launched in the coming weeks (BUT WE DO NEED YOUR HELP) please send any feedback directly to us at

Isn't this just the same as the PPL confuser, but for free?

If you need questions, thats a good place to start! However, i'm surprised nobody has done it before, and not sure if there any legal complications?

From the feedback we have had from current PPL students the new exams are far different to the Confuser and with questions that are not even in the study books especially for meteorology exam and are far more like ATPL questions.. plus the confuser is now out of print as the author is dead RIP

Yes, my instructor mentioned that the exam papers had just been renewed so the Confuser was out of date.

Hadn't heard about the Author though, sad news.

Was wondering why the PPL confuser has gone out of print, guess this explains why. Have they not ever 'leaked' the ppl question bank in the same way as happened with the ATPL one? I think the best be would be to try to find a dodgy examiner, to 'leave' the papers lying around somewhere.
