Can anyone tell me what will happen if while flying one sink batten of the wing is detached?

Only if you first tell us what a "sink batten" is ;)

the sink battens are the 2 external battens (ribs) at the edges of the wing

An intriguing message seemingly apropos nothing at all.

The sink battens are ribs at the edge of a wing? I assume you mean a flexwing and I assume by "edge" you mean the tips, though I am not sure. Do you mean the sticky-out battens that hold the tips out? These are more properly called washout battens are they not? Sometimes they are called "tip sticks". They prevent loss of washout and maintain reflex. Prior to these a flexwing hang glider could enter a "luff dive" from which the only escape was death.

So, if my assumptions on your question are right, the answer is " you might die".

BUT...why would you lose one in flight??? What kind of garbage are you putting your faith in???
