Audio Selector Panels and Intercoms

Dear Pilot Forum members:

My name is Mark Scheuer, founder of PS Engineering, Inc. While we have been in business for 25 years and lead the audio panel after market business in the US, I'm afraid our company is not very well known with pilots in the UK.

I post this to see what I can do to help pilots in the UK become familiar with PS Engineering.

Are there any pilots on this forum that are using our intercoms or audio panels? If so, what has been your experience.

We have just announced a new audio panel (PMA6000B) www.ps-engineering.com/pma6000b.shtml at the AOPA Summit and our prime focus with that audio panel is great quality at a very low price.

Anyway, I hope that I might be able to contribute technically on this forum and hope that I can bring a little bit of knowledge about audio stuff for airplanes.

I have been using a PM1000 intercom in my aircraft for about 15 years now and for sound quality and reliabilty it is first class.

I fitted the PS1000 because at the time it offerd more functions than any other unit (including passenger individual volume & squelch controls).

One of the PS range of audio panels has been chosen to be fitted to a 7 seat classic aircraft project that I am working on largely because it offers a lot of functions that the other audio panels don't. we have had a lot of help from the UK PS Engineering agent Harry Lees (Lees Avionics) in getting the right unit for what we need to do, (It turned out that the best unit for us was intended for fitment in helicopters).

The product support seems very good but the unit in my aircraft has never given any trouble so I cant tell you how fast PS are at fixing things that go wrong.

Great A and C, and thanks for writing. I was beginning to worry that we didn't have any PS Engineering customers in the UK! Harry Lee is great and he is well versed with our audio panels.

PS Engineering's name is not very well known in the UK and frankly that's because we have not spent the time and effort that the UK deserves. So we are now advertising in LOOP and Pilot and are in much closer contact with our dealers in the UK.

It is my hope that within the next year, PS Engineering will be as well knows as GARMIN. Time will tell. This User's Group seems a great place to learn about the type of flying and the kind of avionics that are most appropriate for flying in the UK.

I sure would welcome comments from UK Pilot so that I might better understand exactly what type of audio panels/intercoms best fits their needs.
