I am going to start a distance learning ATPL course in the new year but am torn between these two schools. I don't suppose anyone has had experience of both but if anyone could give me feedback on either I'd be very grateful
Bristol ground school, absolutly fantastic, so far on the first 8 ATPLS I've managed 99% average, they have a very dedicated team of guys to get you through- their brush up course especially is amazing! The training material is great and you gain access to the question bank which resembles the CAA database- and I can tell you that when you do sit your exams after sifting through the hundreds of questions you will probably recognise a few.
Where are you at with training? Do you have a PPL yet? Tell us a bit about yourself...
As for Oxford I hear their material is very good- from a close friend of mine who is using their material as well as Bristol's on the 'harder' subjects, however I think they dont have the all important question bank included so you will have to work even harder with exam prep but I have a link to a site offering free past CAA questions which I can drop you if your interested- it should be of great help. Let us know if you need any info.
Cheers Morbz,
You put a convincing argument across for Bristol.gs! I have a couple of Oxfords CD- Roms which I do like a lot but bristol.gs do seem to have edge with distance learning. I thought I was going to hear something along these lines but because you cant buy their material individually I think I needed this before I made the leap! Ive had a PPL for a few years with 110 hours and have always had too much on to tackle this course but Im thinking it is now or never. I will be happy with an average of 80%!
