I think speed, or lack of it!, is the problem. I understand about two to three months from being sorted.

Sarcastic replies to genuine posts such as mine on your airfield section several weeks ago don't help Mr Davies.

I notice even you are resorting to posting on other sites!

I never did get a reply from your editor to my emails.

A few questions about aircraft terminology: First, what does "voodoo-1" mean when it is said in Top Gun?

Also in Top Gun, what does "alert-5" mean? Is 'alert' a location or a state of readiness? Does the "5" refer to a location or a specific plane, or a state of readiness? Is there, for example, "alert-3"?

Lastly, what is "Ghostrider" referring to? Is that a specific aircraft, or just any aircraft that the tower is talking to?

Are there any good websites that have aircraft terminology?

hi mark,
i have recently joined this web site and have submitted a few questions and a few statements.. but as i am a total enthusiast and i just enjoy watching the skills of the pilots flying their aircraft nearby . and i try to identify them too...so i just enjoy reading what other people say. and some of the articles . i think it is a good web site though...
