JAA Qualified but want to work in the USA as a FI?

Hi,

I hope someone can help me. I have a JAA CPL MEIR and im a UK citizen. Im looking to do a FI rating in the US at one of the JAA schools in Florida. I always wanted to be an instructor but i know their is no jobs here especially as ill be a FI(R). So at the moment my only option is to teach out in the US well i hope its an option atleast! I have asked the schools over there about working but all they say is that if i do the course their will be a job at the end which i have heard all before!

Cut a long story short does anyone know if its possible to work as a JAA FI in the USA if your a UK citizen with no FAA ratings? If anyone has done this or knows of any info that might help me i would greatly appreciate it.

Try contacting Aviation Pacific www.aviationpacific.com in California they are starting oriented JAA modular courses and JAA ATPL ground school with a local examination centre next to the school (yes a JAA examination centre in California not just Florida) I heard that they were looking for dual rated FAA JAA instructors..

Hi,

To the best of my knowledge you cant get a visa to work over there as you are over qualified. You can get a visa M-1 or j.1 if you arent qualified to go there and learn and even work for a time.
