Having been smitten by the SportCruiser I would dearly like to set-up a group (4-6 ppl and, in a perfect world, a mixture of weekday and weekend flyers) at Stapleford.
The SportCruiser to be purchased would be the FACTORY BUILT Professional model upgraded to include BRS (keeps the missus happy!), Garmin 496, Bose Headsets and 3-axis autopilot.
The cost is going to be in the region of £80,000 delivered, including VAT (via the Denmark avenue)
The plan would be to set-up the group as a LTD company and then finance the aircraft over a period of roughly 7 years. As an example, with six people we could look at cash upfront of £3K each (should cover initial first year insurance too) and then a monthly payment of £167 per person (finance repayment is £1K a month). If it were a £5K upfront payment pp, then the loan payment would decrease to approximately £800 or £134 pp.
Allow another £50-75 pp monthly (back of hand estimate) for costs (parking, accrual twds insurance, maintenance) and then the wet cost (17l/hr of mogas or avgas) should be around £25-30 an hour including engine fund contribution.
Although more expensive in the long-run, the financing allows us to minimise the amount of capital committed.
If you fly 100hrs a year, then your all-in hourly cost of flying a brand-spanking new aircraft would be circa £60 an hour. Not bad eh?!
If there are 3-5 other like-minded people committed to an aircraft like this in the Stapleford area then we could be up and running with a brand new factory built SportCruiser within 6-8 weeks.
A demo has been arranged for the end of June - prospective group members for Stapleford should get in touch with me via email /PM ASAP if they would like to join the demo. I have filled one space and we are limited to the number who can have a demo. Serious prospectors should get in touch ASAP.

Furthermore, there is discussion on this group here: http://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=55968
