Firstly I will appollogise, I am not a pilot or very knowledgable about aviation.
I am the Manager of a Country house hotel and I am researching the possibility of getting a private landing strip for light private aircraft (small aircraft 2/4 seaters). I need some advise on where to get more information about this from. I believe that the main thing I need is planning permission, and a few Advisory warnings that people use the strip at their own risk etc...
Can anyone point me in the correct direction.
Thanks
Planning permission is only needed if you want to use it on more than 28 days per year.
I'd suggest maybe getting in touch with the Flying Farmers Association to tap into the experience of establishing a private strip.
In principle, it's quite do-able given a field of the right surface, size, shape, slope and surroundings. Some levelling, drainage and re-seeding is probably worthwhile if it is a serious proposition.
There are some routes to planning permission through established use, if you can operate safely and without disturbing the neighbours for a reasonable period of time.
Thanks Mark
That is somewhere to start.
