PPL UK link not showing correct URL

cadaha 27/11/2006, 3:38 PM

Hi

I have added a link to my website http://www.ppluk.info but the links page is showing the URL as http://www.pilotweb.aero/content/links/www.ppluk.info

Is there any way I can edit the link to the correct URL please

Thank you

Regards

Carl

I will pass this on to the Website editor... but anyone who has a problem will get the quickest response by e-mailing me (Pilot's editor) nick.bloom@pilotweb.co.uk, or telephoning 01799 544288

Hi Nick

I have sent you an email with the following information:

I have discovered why the link to http://www.ppluk.info will not function and that is because whatever check you are doing for valid URL does not like forward slashes or colons which means the value of http:// cannot precede the rest of the url, which in turn means that any <a href using purely www as the beginning of the url will be seen as a local link hence the problem with my link.

I have noticed though some investigation that this problem affects any links added from July this year onwards (not 100% sure about any earlier) and this will affect anyone adding links to your site in the future

 Thanks for your time.
