We welcome contributions to PilotWeb. You might want to write about a trip you
have just flown, an airfield you have visited, or you may want to tell us about
your aircraft. PilotWeb is an interactive website and, over time, we intend to
build it into the most useful, informative and entertaining resource for UK
pilots.
If you are thinking of submitting an article to Pilot magazine, please
click here. If it's for the website alone, please carry on. Please
note that we do not pay for articles submitted to PilotWeb.
Article content and style
First study the website to see the sort of material published. Pilotweb is
aimed at the General Aviation pilot of today. If you have a good story to tell,
it will almost tell itself. Just write a straightforward account. Humour is
particularly welcome. In spelling and style we generally follow the Oxford
University Press.
The various sections where contributions are most welcome are: Travel, Features,
Events reports, Aircraft and Airfields. However, you may also like to comment
on flight tests and reviews of products if you have personal experience.
Articles should not be too long. A simple title will do. Please remember to
include your name, address and e-mail address (not necessarily for
publication), and any relevant web links. Please submit ordinary text. Do not
include html or any other web coding.
Photos
Photos are welcome so long as you have taken them yourself, and agree to them
being published on PilotWeb. Submitting them to the website is an indication
that you agree to these terms. There is no payment for photos submitted to
PilotWeb.
Photos should be in jpeg format, medium quality, saved to 72 pixels per inch or
similar, and not bigger than 400 pixels wide. If you are unsure how to convert
digital images to this spec, send them anyway and we'll do it for you.
